LOCAL RULES

1 |
OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27-1) |
| |
|
| |
a) Beyond
any of the fences or hedges forming the course boundaries |
| |
b) Beyond the
white posts situated on the right of the 8th,9th and 18th holes |
| |
c) The
clubhouse and its surrounds, the practise putting green, car park and
the green keeper's buildings and compound |
| |
|
|

OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24) |
| |
|
| |
a) Stones
in the bunkers are moveable obstructions (Rule 21-1 applies) |
| |
b) Relief
from interference by immoveable obstructions is obtained under Rule
24-2b(i). |
| |
In addition, if a ball lies off
the putting green but not in a hazard and an immoveable obstruction on
or within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club
lengths of the ball intervenes in the line of play between the ball and
the hole, the player may take relief as follows:- The ball must be
lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay a) not
nearer the hole, b) avoids intervention and c) is not in a hazard or on
a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when lifted. Relief under this
Local Rule is also available if the player's ball lies on the putting
green and an immoveable obstruction within two club lengths of the
putting green intervenes on his line of putt the player may take relief
as follows:- The ball may be lifted and placed at the nearest point to
where the ball lay that a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids
intervention and c) is not in a hazard. The ball may be cleaned when
lifted. |

c) The
sleepers situated at the rear of the 5th green are immoveable
obstructions (Rule 24 -2b (i) applies). |

WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26) |
| |
|
| |
a)
Ordinary water hazards are defined by yellow stakes or lines (Rule 26-1a
and 1b apply) |
| |
b)
Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes or lines (Rule 26-1a, 1b
and 1c apply) |
| |
c) At the
7th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes if there is doubt as to whether a
player's ball is in the water hazard, the player may play a provisional
ball under any of the relief options in Rule 26-1. If the player does so
and it transpires that the ball is in the water hazard, the player may
play the original ball as it lies or continue with the provisional ball
in play, but they may NOT proceed under the RULE 26-1 with regard to the
original ball. (R & A decision 09.01.1998.) |

GROUND UNDER REPAIR |
| |
|
| |
a) Play
is prohibited from all areas marked as Ground Under Repair. |
| |
b) Deep
ruts, not merely indentations, caused by course machinery are ground
under repair (rule 25-1) |
| |
c) Except
in Club and Open Competitions and official matches all teeing areas
other than that on the hole being played are G.U.R. from which play is
prohibited. |

Penalty for breach of local
rule
Match play - Loss of hole
Stroke play - Two strokes. |

THE
YELLOW TEE MARKERS ARE THE TEES OF THE DAY AND ARE TO BE USED BY ALL
VISITORS. |
