LADIES CAPTAIN 2011

I was introduced to golf at a very early age (3 weeks old and in a carry cot to be precise) by my Mam and Dad. It was inevitable that I was going to end up playing the game.

 I have represented WGC Juniors and Ladies team, Durham County Junior Girls Team, Durham County Society Team and have also had the honour of playing for Durham County Ladies Team.

 I have many happy memories within my golfing years and have gained many achievements such as winning the Club Championship on several occasions, the Durham County Junior Golf Society Championship, DHL and Daily Express National Girls Championship at La Manga, Spain with the now Tour Pro Nick Dougherty and even took him out clubbing for the first time . . . this could explain his current drinking issues!

 I have represented Wearside in the Durham County Mixed Foursomes on numerous occasions reaching the Semi Final once with my dad. (it should have been the final but the fossil set his trousers on fire and hit the ball side ways!)

 I look forward to my year of Captaincy and working with the Club Captain David Johnson. With the support of my Vice Captain Marion Batey, Committee and the Ladies Section, I trust that the year will run smoothly and successfully.

 I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new members and wish everyone a successful year’s golfing in 2011.
