LADIES CAPTAIN 2010 JACQUIE WADE            

Although I only recently rejoined Wearside Golf Club and the world of golf, I have been involved with the club in one way or another almost all my life, starting here as a Junior many years ago. Quite a few members of my family have all belonged to or have played this fine golf club and exceptional course.

I left the area when I joined the Royal Air Force as a Policewoman, and was fortunate to travel extensively during my service, including spending 2 years based in Hong Kong. I married and had family while living in the South of England but finally returned to the North East in 1997. I have a career in IT and have worked for two of the world largest Service Providers.

Since rejoining I have made many good friends and have gradually become more involved in the activities of the Club and of the Ladies Section. I have thoroughly enjoyed these last couple of years, so it is with a great deal of honour, pleasure, and just a little pride that I commence my year as Captain of the Ladies Section, following in my mothers footsteps.

I shall do my utmost to carry out the duties of the role and represent both the Club and the Ladies in 2010 to the best of my ability. I will be continuing my work to introduce more women into golf and to be members of this club.

I look forward to working with the Club Captain, Alec Atkinson, and wish him every success for his year in office. I wish everyone at the Club an enjoyable and successful 2010.
